Boxer & Gerson Partner Maria Sager will join an expert four-person panel in Oakland on Friday, April 6 for a free presentation entitled “Workers’ Comp 101.” The two-hour panel discussion is sponsored by the Community Outreach Subcommittee of the California Lawyers Association. It will be followed by a half-hour Q & A, with the overall goal of sending participants home with a basic working knowledge of workers’ compensation law in the state.
Sager is a certified workers’ compensation specialist who will address the issues and protocols required for injured workers in submitting a workers’ comp claim. She will be joined by insurance company defense attorney Yvonne Lang of Pearlman, Borska & Wax in Walnut Creek and two representatives of the state’s Division of Workers’ Compensation: Chief Judge Paige S. Levy and Information & Assistance Officer Donald Burian.
The seminar is open to the public but will be most applicable to employers, injured workers, attorneys unfamiliar with workers’ compensation law, lien claimants, claims adjusters and medical providers.
It will take place at 10 a.m. at the Elihu M. Harris State Office Building on 1515 Clay Street, Second Floor, Room 11. Although admission is free, reservations are required by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
