The long-running WorkersCompZone.com blog authored by Boxer & Gerson, LLP attorney Julius Young was honored again when it earned a spot among “Best Blogs” nationally by the website workerscompensation.com. Young’s blog had won identical honors in previous years when the awards program was run by the legal and research firm Nexis Lexis, which bowed out this year and allowed the national workers’ comp website to manage the festivities. A panel of workers’ comp experts evaluated hundreds of blogs before reaching agreement on its top picks. The criteria included both objective measures and subjective evaluation by judges who read exhaustive numbers of posts before settling on their picks.
Young has been practicing workers’ comp and Social Security Disability law since 1979, and frequently serves as a guest lecturer, instructor, advisor and member of expert panels. His varied education includes an undergraduate degree in history from Davidson College in North Carolina, a master’s degree in religion from Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, and a law degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law in Chapel Hill. In 2014, he was honored with the Fran Schreiberg Pro Bono award for community service by WorkSafe, the Bay Area nonprofit dedicated to safety and justice in the workplace.
