Workers’ compensation attorney Maria Sager addressed a group of attorneys serving the Bay Area Legal Aid organization at their Oakland headquarters office on May 12, providing them with an overview and updates on California workers’ compensation law. Bay Area Legal Aid serves economically challenged clients from offices in seven Bay Area counties, offering them guidance and representation on matters of civil law. The organization serves some 70,000 clients a year, most all of whom would not otherwise have the resources to pursue legal claims. Clients include the working poor, seniors, the disabled, immigrants and other disadvantaged populations. It provides services in a dozen languages commonly spoken in immigrant communities around the Bay Area. See http://baylegal.org for more information.
