NOTE: BOXER & GERSON STRONGLY SUPPORTS ASSEMBLY BILL 5 AND ITS INCREASED PROTECTIONS FOR CALIFORNIA WORKERS IN THIS UNCERTAIN ECONOMY
Boxer & Gerson, LLP attorneys continued their longtime support of local unions by attending simultaneous holiday luncheons across the bay from each other on December 2.
The Building & Construction Trades Council (BCTC) of Alameda County held its 42nd Annual Holiday Luncheon at the Oakland Airport, where Boxer & Gerson Certified Workers’ Compensation Specialists Dennis Popalardo and Frank Russo paid their respects to the firm’s many friends in the East Bay’s union movement.
The BCTC is a coalition that represents 28 union locals involved in a wide range of construction trades and projects around the Bay Area.
Luminaries in attendance at the luncheon included Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf and former San Francisco ‘49er and Oakland Raider great Ronnie Lott, who has been busy in an investment group that is putting forth a package to keep the Raiders in their hometown rather than pursue possible relocation to Las Vegas. Schaaf has heartily endorsed those efforts.
Across the bay at The Westin, San Francisco Airport in Millbrae, Boxer & Gerson Associate Justin Litvack represented his firm at a festive luncheon sponsored by the San Mateo County Central Labor Council (SMCLC) and the San Mateo County Building Trades Council. The SMCLC is a coalition of 110 local unions ranging from workers in bakeries and transit to teaching, airline piloting, firefighting, plumbing, music and many others. The Building Trades Council is an umbrella organization representing the county’s construction unions.
