Boxer & Gerson to Participate in Mexican Consulate’s Labor Rights Week
Boxer & Gerson, LLP will take an active role in education activities sponsored by the Mexican Consulate in San Francisco’s Labor Rights Week, which runs Saturday, August 29 through Friday, September 4. Boxer & Gerson Attorney and Partner Maria Sager will make a series of six presentations on her specialty of workers’ comp law throughout the week.
The first takes place at the Cathedral of St. Mary in San Francisco on Saturday, as part of a half-day series of seminars where Boxer & Gerson will serve as a co-sponsor. It will be followed by four more presentations at the Mexican Consulate at varying times on Monday through Thursday. The schedule concludes on Friday with Sager making multiple presentations at the Consulates of Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua.
The theme of this annual event for 2015 year is, “I have rights in the workplace,” reflecting the long-running issue of immigrant laborers often being subjected to exploitation by certain employers who do not follow the law regarding workplace safety and injury protocols.
