Boxer & Gerson, LLP’s home in the Rotunda Building of Frank H. Ogawa Plaza in downtown Oakland will be the setting once again on December 10 as the firm hosts its 7th Annual Mayor’s Toy Drive Reception. The charity affair collects thousands of toys annually from friends and associates of the firm, who come to the reception bearing either three unwrapped non-violent toys suitable for children up to age 12 or $30 checks with which toys will be purchased. The citywide Toy Drive is now in its 35th year.
A Boxer & Gerson committee headed by Workers’ Compensation Specialist Maria Sager spends many months organizing the reception, which will be attended by aides of Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf, Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board Presiding Judge Gene Lam, and many other members of the Bay Area’s worker’s comp community. Nearly thirty other sponsors from that community have lent assistance to the event.
Entertainment will be provided by the Oakland Youth Chorus and the George Spencer Trio, with the reception running from 5-8 p.m. A complimentary, professionally staffed photo booth will also let attendees memorialize the event.
