Michael Gerson, a partner at Boxer & Gerson, LLP, has been named to the California Workers’ Compensation Law Advisory Commission effective 2007.

His term expires in 2010. Members of the California Workers’ Compensation Law Advisory Commission provide advice and counsel to the California State Bar Board of Legal Specialization. Boxer & Gerson partner Julius Young has been named a consultant to Matthew Bender & Co. effective November 2007.

Mr. Young has been named to the editorial consultant board for Bender’s Lexis.com, joining several other prominent lawyers and judges as advisors to Lexis on WCAB noteworthy panel decisions. In this role, Mr. Young reviews panel decisions of the California Workers Compensation Appeals Board and makes recommendations on which cases are worthy for publication.



Boxer & Gerson attorneys John Anton and Gary Roth secured a settlement well in excess of $1 million for an employee of a San Francisco cabinet shop who was injured when his arm was sucked into a dust collection system.

The injury occurred when the worker was checking the dust collection bin and his arm was positioned near an airlock, a device which trapped and deposited dust into a collection bin by use of high-speed, rotating blades.
